Castle Blue Restaurant in Bala

Not what we expected as it was very small but food was great! Friendly staff, reasonable price and everyone left full.

Try their Dry Smoked Ribs, absolutely wonderful! It’s worth the drive to Bala Muskoka🙂

Fantastic smoked prime rib as their weekend special. Large portions, good service and a surprisingly large and diverse menu for such a small building, luckily there’s a spacious patio.Definitely a great destination for eat in or take out.

Great place in a traditionally very difficult area to run a business. The owner is working his butt off out back creating genuinely delicious barbeque staples. While it can be slow, service is courteous and the food is great. Just come prepared to have a few beers on the newly built patio while you wait for your food!

We've been twice in three days since we discovered Castle Blue. Fresh and tasty food at a very fair price with large portions. We'll be back again

Tl;Dr - Fantastic food, service and a nice location. Just eat here. As someone who travels a lot for work I tend to be critical of restaurants. Castle Blue took me by surprise with the quality of food and service. The Canadian poutine is quite possibly the best poutine I have had. The chef is passionate about what he does and it shows in the food and the smile on his face when you see him around. Anyone going to the bala area should take the time to visit Castle Blue.

Stopped here on a busy Sunday night of the August long weekend.Staff was very accommodating, alfresco seating required a short wait... I had the burger. The best dressed burger I have ever had. I mean ever! Clearly the chef takes a lot of pride in his work Kim had the haddock and chips Excellent as well and an absolutely fantastic take on tartar sauce to accompany it. It looks like a hole in the wall, but you gotta stop by for dinner.

I am so happy that Ted opened Castle Blue just a few short years ago. Oh how this restaurant has blossomed! I strongly recommend the truffle Mac & Cheese or the pulled pork poutine... really anything on the menu will hit the spot! A must visit if you are around Bala

Their food is delicious. We came around 4:15 PM and we wanted to order the Prime Rib Special that is only available after 5pm. They let us ordered it anyways. Very good food! 👌🏻
